COME LEARN, PLAY AND GROW TOGETHER!

Welcome to the Coyote Mentoring Educators Retreat, for the first time ever hosted at Johnson’s Landing! This retreat is a rare opportunity to dive-deep into mentorship culture, connect/network with other educators, schools and organizations, and learn directly from Twin Eagles Wilderness School’s co-founder Jeannine Tidwell. Designed for school teachers, outdoor educators, nature enthusiasts,  community leaders, and anyone passionate about becoming a better teacher, guide and mentor to those they work with.

About Coyote Mentoring
Coyote Mentoring is a model of education and learning inspired by some of the best-practices of healthy nature connected communities around the world. In rekindling these connection practices, we invite the playfulness, curiousity and adaptability  of coyote to help us in our efforts. Come join us as we dive into some of the mentoring techniques and practices that will help you recognize the art of asking potent questions to feed the flame of curiosity in your students, develop insight for finding their unique gifts and discover new ways to stretch and deepen the learning experience. We will also explore some of the cultural mentoring practices that best complement learning in nature.

Participants come together for an immersion into storytelling, ceremonies, celebrations, singing, group activities, adventures, time to wander alone and reflect within the beautifully held landscape of Johnson’s Landing. Integral to this experience is a gathering of like-minded spirits, passionately exploring the skills of living intimately with the earth, and discovering more about themselves in the process. This retreat will alter your view of today’s youth and create a possibility for the future like you may not have experienced before.

Included in this retreat are:
🌿 Over 15 hours of instruction delivered by Jeannine and her assistant
🌿 All meals provided (2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners) & fully organic

🌿 Fun and engaging group activities
🌿 Peer mentoring sessions
🌿 Group circles and discussions
🌿 Accommodations in the form of camping or affordable cabins

Over the course of this training, facilitators and mentors will create a living cultural basket to surround your experience. Together we discover what it means (and how it feels) to play a part in re-establishing a healthy, vibrant culture of awareness. This experience is essential for anyone interested in bringing mentoring to his or her own community. Many people come together to explore their connection to others who share the same vision, restore their hope and swap stories of lessons learned.

Through a combination of lecture, storytelling, discussions, group activities, nature connection, and peer mentoring sessions, participants will learn the importance of heightened awareness in students, and how it relates to critical thinking and problem solving. We will discover how to use symbol and metaphor to create a powerful educational environment, the role of brain patterning, and the natural flow of the human learning process. We will dive into how stories, song and other artistic expressions open a doorway to authentic student growth while exploring essential routines found throughout the world that ground students in their senses and expand awareness.
